Kidzone (Rum för Barn)
On the fourth floor of the big Kulturhuset building at Sergels torg you will find our Kidzone, where you can read and borrow books, paint, listen to a story or sing. Our library is especially for children. Most books are in Swedish, but we also have books in Arabic, English, Finnish, French, German, Russian and Spanish.
The three rooms are especially designed for children of different ages, with different physical needs and abilities. Here kids will find hideaways, hammocks where they can lie and read peacefully, exciting things to look at.
Ages 0–3 The Yellow Room has books for toddlers. The play area and toys are chosen to suit their abilities and curiosity.
Ages 4–7 The Brown Room has books about the body and the universe, fact books about trains, tigers and trees. Hideaways, miniature worlds and many picturebooks.
Ages 8–11 The White Room has novels, magazines and cartoons, maps and encyclopaedias. Here children can read on their own or together with others.
The Art Workshop in the Kidzone
The Art Workshop is for kids of all ages and is open to the public daily except Mondays. Here children can experiment with colours and shapes and try different materials and fabrics under the guidance of artists.
The Art Workshop always closes half an hour before the library.
Cost for materials in the Art Workshop is SEK 20.
